JUNE 26, 2019: The Association of Tennis Players (ATP) announced today that Alexei Popyrin has broken into the Top 100 in Singles Rankings.
Popyrin is thrilled to be ranked as a Top 100 player, and, as his talent and dedication gain recognition, he acknowledges that his work is only just beginning. After learning of his newest world ranking, Popyrin responded, “Breaking the top 100 was one of the goals I set at the start of the year and I am really pleased to get it done. Now I’m focused on making an impression in the majors. The work never stops; it just gets tougher.”
Following Wimbledon, Popyrin will compete in the summer hardcourt circuit which takes place in Atlanta, Washington, Montreal, and Cincinnati, and ends with the US Open.

Alexei Popyrin is a 19-year-old Australia-born tennis player who has broken through 10 career-high rankings in 2019 alone. Coached by Philipp Wagner, Popyrin has risen through the rankings of the ATP tournament circuit since he first broke onto the tour in August 2016. Also ranked in doubles, Popyrin has proven that he is a versatile player ready to take his place as a top contender in the upcoming tournaments.
